Hodgman - D-Day looms for cost of living increase
It’s clear that Tasmanians are hurting from the spiralling cost of living. Sadly, it’s also clear that the Green-Labor Government has no idea how to tackle the problem.
1 July is going to be D-Day for many Tasmanian families and small businesses with power prices increasing by at least 20 percent and water and sewerage prices increasing by as much as 10 percent. Tasmanians deserve a Government that has a plan, not a Government that is full of excuses.
The Liberals have a clear plan to tackle the cost of living.
A majority Hodgman Liberal Government would start by merging the three water and sewerage corporations into one, which Deloitte says will save $20 million over four years.
A majority Hodgman Liberal Government will also hand back the carbon tax on small business and household power bills, which will cut power bills by as much as 6.5 percent.
A majority Hodgman Liberal Government will also open up the electricity market to competition to put even more downward pressure on prices.
It’s clear that only the Liberals have the vision to tackle the cost of living.
