Hydro key part of Liberal vision for a more self-reliant Tasmania
If Tasmania is to become more self-reliant, as is our vision, then it is essential that Hydro remains in public hands.
Not only is this an iconic asset that Tasmanians rightly feel proud of, it is also one of the biggest contributors to the State Budget.
Over the next four years, Hydro will return around $100 million a year to the State Budget. That is money that can be invested into hospitals, schools, police stations and vital infrastructure.
I note that the Premier has promised not to sell the Hydro. I also note that before the last election, Labor and the Greens promised not to sell the TOTE.
