Premier: get your priorities right
Over recent weeks we’ve had confirmation that the bleeding in our health system is getting worse, yet there’s another $127 million of cuts to health budgeted for next year.
We all know that overspending by a billion dollars over the last six years has wrecked the budget. Even the Premier has admitted that, but that doesn’t mean we have to destroy our frontline services. The Government needs to get its priorities right.
I’m calling on the Premier to get the priorities right in the upcoming budget and adopt our policy of delivering the essentials – such as health – and instead cut the luxuries.
The Premier needs to act now to stop the bleeding in our health system, not make the wound worse.
